Cinnamon Swirl Protein Bread

I always enjoy Jamie Eason’s Protein Bar recipes!  So this week I decided to give this one a try because I love cinnamon and I really needed to switch things up a bit!  So this is now my afternoon or morning snack with my cup of tea!  Guilt free and complete because it has my complex carb and my protein in one meal!  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!!!

Chocolate Shakeology Yogurt Treat

Sweet Treats!  Who doesn’t love a sweet treat every once in awhile!  But seriously we don’t want to sabotage our hard work either.  So this morning a fellow coach posted this amazing recipe for Shakeology yogurt!

I made it for my kids and they loved it!  Seriously if you need something creamy and sweet like ice cream reach for this dessert and save yourself the calories!!!  Plus it will keep you full because Greek yogurt is high in protein and the Shakeology gives you nutrition plus berries have lots of antioxidants and it’s an all around good snack!

Pumpkin No-Bake Power Bites

I found this recipe while surfing some new clean eating sites and it just might be one of the most amazing things I have ever tasted!  I love fall and I love oatmeal and these little bites are just the ticket to a clean healthy snack!!!  I’m in heaven!  Now, to not eat them all in one sitting!

This time of year we sometimes just want something warm and comforting!  Especially when apple pies and pumpkin pie is everywhere!!!  This is the perfect time to bust out this easy recipe!!!

Healthy Peanut Butter Cookies

Believe it or not my healthy cookie recipe actually only has 3 tablespoons of sugar (but they still taste sweet!) The rest of the sweetness comes from all-natural dried apricots. By the way, sometimes I’ll use prunes as a sweetener but because I wanted the peanut butter cookies to look like “regular” colored peanut butter cookies I decided to use sun-colored dried apricots instead of purplish-brown prunes.

Dried apricots are a favorite “health food” among the natural food crowd because they offer a concentrated source of natural fruit sweetness that comes packaged with anti-inflammatory plant-based phytonutrients, tons of antioxidants including vitamin A and beta-carotene plus potassium and phytosterols too.

When using dried apricots as a sweetener for cookies you want to stew them first. You can stew apricots stove top or just do what I do and put the apricots in a cup of water in a microwave-safe dish and microwave on high for about 2 1/2 minutes. Then let the apricots sit in the super hot water for about 5 minutes to soften. Drain the water and the dried apricots are ready to be pureed with the wet ingredients you use in your cookie batter.

Peanut Butter Fudge Power Bars

Oh my heavens is this one of my favorites!!! Who here is just about dying for something sweet. Honestly I am the biggest sweet junkie there is so this is sooo very hard for me! When Nicole shared this at our Dream team leadership retreat I just knew it was going to become a family favorite. So here I am sharing it with you now as well. This is of course a treat but it’s also a great replacement for a cookie when you just can’t resist!!!!

Sea Salt Caramel Shakeology

I have a slight addiction to a new recipe that I found and am totally in love with.

Lets be honest for a moment.  I am completely and totally a SWEETS addict!  Just because I have been clean eating for 3 years doesn’t mean I don’t want to pull a U-turn into the nearest bakery or eat a donut when I see one!  I am just wired to love a sweet treat!  But, like any other woman out there sweet treats don’t like my hips or my stomach!  So I have to find ways to feel like I get the sweet fix without the crappy, calorie loaded, body bloating ingredients.  Also, it has to taste decadent, it cannot be fake or imitation. The real deal is the way to go!  So when I cam across Shakeology I won’t lie, I was skeptical that it was really truly going to curb my cravings.  Much to my surprise it did that and more!
Depending on the mood I am in, the type of drink I want, I can tweak Shakeology to meet my needs.
If I want a milkshake then I make my shake in a blender with ice, peanut butter a banana, almond milk and water for thickness.

If I want it like a chocolate milk then I shake it up, use water and almond milk and no ice!  It is all a personal preference but you can work with it to find what fits you best! There is no right or wrong way to make Shakeology.  The only exception is that you cannot heat it because it loses the good properties!

So a little bit of salty and a little sweat is the perfect combination to my morning breakfast!

Oatmeal Cookie Shakeology

Lets just be honest!  Who wouldn’t want to eat cookies for breakfast?!?! I have by far the BIGGEST sweet tooth ever! I could eat donuts, cookies, cakes and pastries at any time of the day!  It still takes hard work and dedication to not want to eat it all.

In the past I would eat a bowl of cereal for breakfast or grab a junk filled protein bar or a sub out and about but not the new me!

The old me would of crashed and burned an hour later because my blood sugar would of dipped to low and I would of been holding my eyes open with tooth picks. But the new me, is full of energy because I had a great breakfast that was packed with all the good stuff my body needs to stay hydrated, healthy and nutritious.

I of course have that sweet food tendency so when I saw this recipe I couldn’t pass it up!  You have to try it  It’s seriously going in rotation along with the Salted caramel!!!

Apple Crisp Yogurt

The first year I started clean eating I was devastated that I had to give up my Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes because that was something I looked forward to!  But when I saw the calories, the sugar, the ingredients I just about died!  It is the most awful drink you can possibly have!  I made a commitment to start finding other recipes, drinks and foods that could replace the old habits that I had.  It’s not about giving up everything that you enjoy but instead finding balance in life so that you can have your health and you can have your food too!

I successfully gave up PSL’s without blinking an eye!  Ice cream on the other hand is a little harder for me!  Having that sweet creamy ice cream is a comfort food.  So how do you get around that???  My solution is greek yogurt!  We forgo the ice cream for greek yogurt quite often and its a habit our 2 boys have now adopted as well.

This past week my husband was rummaging around the kitchen on the hunt for an evening snack and he started chopping and scooping and doing who knows what in the kitchen and THIS is the concoction he came up with!  Delicious, crunchy, CHOCOLATE and creamy!  It hit on all the areas that I love and need as far as comfort food!

For Fix containers it is 1 red, 1 purple, 1 yellow and a spoon if you add in peanut butter.
