Welcome to week 2: It’s called Release!

This week we add in the lovely DETOX!!!  And exactly what is detox?  It is helping to cleanse your colon and clear out your intestines.  But it’s not in a gross glued to the toilet kind of way!  It’s a very gentle cleanse that you really can’t tell a difference!  I also like to classify this week as the emotional week!  It also could be emotional for me because my son, Bryce turned 2 today and for the past 3 days I have been bombarded with pizza, cake and cupcakes!  So the will power is in full force!!!  I was so busy today that I ate my dinner for lunch and then didn’t have anything for dinner!  So I ate the same thing again for dinner!  So kind of a boring day 10 but it worked and I didn’t cheat!  Not even 1 taste of cake!  I just knew I would feel guilty!  Plus I really really want to get the full benefits of the cleanse!

Umm yummy detox

Here is a nice little explanation about exactly what the Detox is!

So on day 8 you begin you start eating a fresh fruit plate for breakfast.  You can eat a maximum of 2 cups of fruit.  So I loaded up on some of the yummiest fruits in season right now!  Totally delicious.  But I was really hungry about 2 hours later!

Lunch was my favorite the microgreens salad and 1/8 sliced avocado!  I was really hungry today so I added in some extra veggies to fill my tummy!
Dinner was absolutely amazing!  Honestly, who would of thought that pinto beans and rice with some seasoning could be so filling!  I also had some string beans and zucchini.  I felt totally fulfilled!
The kicker was that we had company for dinner and they brought us some yummy Oakmont Bakery treats!  Which if you are not from this area, let me tell you that it is the most fantastic bakery in the area!  They make the tastiest treats!  I was able to resist but it was totally hard!!

Day 9:  Bryce’s family birthday party!  Also, my prep day!  Time to get busy. I’m making soup and dressing today!
I started out with the Sweet Potato and Roasted Red Pepper Bisque.  I love sweet potatoes and I am honestly super excited for this soup.  So after a total disaster in the kitchen appeared some of the best tasting soup I have ever tasted!!!

I also busted out the Creamy Garlic Dressing and that was absolutely amazing too!  I am considering never buying commercial salad dressing again after tasting that!  The fact that I know what is in the bottle and it literally only took 5 minutes to make is enough for me!  SOLD!!!!

For dinner tonight I made turkey tacos for the family and for myself, my mother and sister in law who are all doing the reset I did the pinto beans and rice along with a microgreens salad!  Which of course I got busy and didn’t take a picture of!  But it’s really yummy!

Emotions much better today!!!  I actually told my husband at 2:00 pm that this is the first day that I didn’t want to lay down and take a nap because I was totally exhausted.  This is coming from the person who typically drinks 5 cups of coffee per day!  Now zero!! Totally natural energy!  What a great feeling!  The best part is that my mind is completely clear and able to think!  My to do list is getting accomplished and I love it!

So now this brings us to DAY 9- Oh day 9!  How I loathe you!!!
The only good thing about today is the fact that it is my baby boy Bryce’s birthday!!!  He is 2 today!  He is the light of my life and the sweetest and most adorable little boy!  So his presence always makes me smile. But everything else about my day made me cry!
When reading through the Reset they did say that the detox week can release some emotions and stress!  Well, today was that day!  I think I cried at least 3 times thru the day!  I actually called up my friend and coach to just vent!
So I started out my day with a wonderful fresh fruit plate that was amazing!  I must say that the mango in season right now are like candy!

Then for lunch on the schedule was to have the sweet potato and roasted red pepper bisque and a greek salad. Well I accidentally ate the quinoa pilaf I needed for dinner!  I am telling you that the soup is magical!  I am totally posting the recipe!  Check back later in the week!

Then, I was super busy all afternoon with work and calls that my afternoon snack was Vegan Chocolate Shakeology!
As I was logging in for my 3 pm call my door bell rang!!  It was like a little angel from heaven at my doorstep!!!!
Miss Sara Stakeley to the rescue with a beautiful Edible Fruit Arrangement!!  I was telling her earlier about my crappy day and my crying so she brought over some fruit to cheer me up! What a great friend!
You know I just realized that I need to make more time for the people in my life that mean the most to me!  I really appreciate that little act of caring! It really hit home and made me appreciate our friendship!  Sara you have no idea how much that meant to me and made my day! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!

And to end the day I had a beautiful salad and the wonderful Quinoa Pilaf again for dinner!  But it was really yummy so I didn’t mind eating it twice in one day!  Again, I forgot to take a picture because we had family here!

But I passed up on Coconut Cream Pie and I am sitting here sipping my Green Tea now!!!  What a day!!  I’m exhausted and I definitely need to hit the hay!!!

Pretty pumped, it’s day 11 tomorrow!  We are half way there!!!!
My sister in law lost 9 lbs in week 1!!!
My coach Marlena lost 8 lbs in week 1!!
The other ladies are holding out on me!!!
