I found a new love! Anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely love my oatmeal for breakfast! But I found this recipe in the P90X2 nutrition guide and I just fell in love!
If you don’t know what Quinoa is I will explain! It is a grain that is also a complete protein and has a crunchy texture. It can be used as a side dish with your dinner or in this case as a replacement to your morning cup of oatmeal! Since it is a protein and a grain you don’t have to add protein powder or egg whites to your breakfast! 1 bowl and you are done! Some quinoa has to be rinsed because of the coating that is on it. I bought my quinoa from Costco and it comes pre-rinsed so I didn’t have to go down that path! But if you do, then get a fine mesh seive to rinse it in before cooking!
Want a quick breakfast that provides tons of nutrients, energy, protein and actually tastes good? This smoothie is for you! I have really taken smoothies under my wing in a pinch. When I need something that is chocked full of nutrients but doesn’t require me to cook a full meal then this is my go to! Smoothies are filling and really tasty! You would be surprised that this combination is very sweet!!!
This recipe is from the Beast Program. Beast Breakfast Coconut Quinoa is a great recipe because quinoa is a grain like seed that is high in protein and balanced in essential amino acids. When cooked, it’s light and fluffy with a mild, slightly nutty flavor. This is a great alternative to oatmeal.
Since this recipe is from the Beast Program, you’ll need to cut your serving size in half unless following the Beast Program.
A lot of people have never heard of quinoa or are deathly afraid of it! But don’t be, it is absolutely delicious. I explain it as similar to rice in the sense that you cook it the same way. But it has a chewier consistency and is actually a complete protein. So it is packed with your healthy carbs and your sustaining protein all in one food! BONUS for those of us who are clean eaters, vegetarians or need to increase protein! Plus it gives you that carb consistency without the after affects!

Yes I said it right, MANCAKES not pancakes! I first learned about mancakes from my coach Deidra and then I watched Maegan post about them all the time and how awesome they are. I decided that I just had to give it a try. ACTUALLY, my husband decided he was going to make them!!
I am hooked and there are so many different ways you can make them! Today I’m sharing one of our favorites. If you are looking for a way to eat pancakes but keep it clean and not overkill it on the carbs this works great.
You can make them ahead of time, let them cool and then store them for later or you can eat them immediately. Either way they are delicious.

As I flipped through the Les Mills Pump nutrition guide looking for some new recipes to try I came across this tasty Quinoa Power Cereal as breakfast option. If you don’t know anything about quinoa I will give you the scoop. It is a type of grain, but it is very high in protein. Cooked similar to rice, it has more of a chewier texture. Quinoa has a slight nutty flavor and totally satisfies my need for something crunchy like cereal. Such a great way to make sure that you are getting in enough protein during the day and giving yourself complete meals! Stay full longer and are left satisfied instead of hungry! Give it a try!!!

I have found this most amazing recipe for Mason Jar overnight oatmeal that I have to share! I made this with my boys and they are all stacked in the fridge and ready for the week. We made these in less than 30 minutes (it took a little longer bc I had little hands helping me). This little jars are perfect to throw in your lunch bag, eat for a snack or share with your kids! Super easy and full of flavor!!!
The great part is that you eat them cold so you don’t even have to warm them up.
I am a huge Instagram fan and I seriously love following Clean Eating moms that post yummy recipes. I have been seeing lots of body builders and fitness competitors post about protein pancakes. I mean seriously they look amazing, like so amazing that there is no way you could eat those while doing contest prep. So I decided to give this one particular recipe a try.
So the ingredients were simple, it was easy to make but my pancakes look NOTHING like the girl who posted them. I mean honestly, she had to of made at least 10 batches before she got it right. I even messaged her on Instagram to get her secret for perfect looking pancakes!!!
But despite the look of them, the taste is out of this world. I mean ridiculously good!!! I add a little honey to the cream topping because I wanted more sweetness. But the almond extract was just what it needed!! You have to try this recipe!! It will CHANGE your LIFE!!!

Mornings can be a rush: getting the kids off to school and yourself out the door! This recipe is a delicious way to eat clean and not be late for work! Last week as I was talking to some of my challengers we discussed these egg white muffins! Seriously, what a genious idea! Why didn’t I think of it sooner! I’m always in search of quick easy snacks and meal ideas! The fact that you can make these ahead of time, pop them in the fridge and grab and go for the rest of the week just makes perfect sense! The other bonus is that if you have kids you can easily give these to them on the way to the bus stop or in the car!! It’s a no brainer way to sneak in proper nutrition without anyone having to know!!!
The awesome thing is that you can throw in virtually any veggie or spice you want to get the taste you desire!!
