Apple Crisp Yogurt

The first year I started clean eating I was devastated that I had to give up my Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes because that was something I looked forward to!  But when I saw the calories, the sugar, the ingredients I just about died!  It is the most awful drink you can possibly have!  I made a commitment to start finding other recipes, drinks and foods that could replace the old habits that I had.  It’s not about giving up everything that you enjoy but instead finding balance in life so that you can have your health and you can have your food too!

I successfully gave up PSL’s without blinking an eye!  Ice cream on the other hand is a little harder for me!  Having that sweet creamy ice cream is a comfort food.  So how do you get around that???  My solution is greek yogurt!  We forgo the ice cream for greek yogurt quite often and its a habit our 2 boys have now adopted as well.

This past week my husband was rummaging around the kitchen on the hunt for an evening snack and he started chopping and scooping and doing who knows what in the kitchen and THIS is the concoction he came up with!  Delicious, crunchy, CHOCOLATE and creamy!  It hit on all the areas that I love and need as far as comfort food!

For Fix containers it is 1 red, 1 purple, 1 yellow and a spoon if you add in peanut butter.

Healthy Mint Chocolate Truffles

I’m surrounded from every single angle by sugar cookies {my favorite} yummy dips, carb loaded appetizers and I won’t lie…. I want it all!!!  Goodness gracious this is HARD!  Do you feel me?!? Are you the same way?  I mean seriously it’s crazy, I can’t believe how my senses are heightened to all the bad foods around me because I generally just can’t even eat it!  I am trying to stay focused on my MAX30 results because after all I am in the test group.  We are on week 7 and I have a week and a half left so it’s super focused game time!!!!

So on the Team Beachbody Website  there are all sorts of great recipes and tips to keep you on track!  I found this little beauty and instantly fell in love!  I’m sharing it with you all because it would be perfect to tuck into your holiday arrangements and not have the guilt with it too!

No Bake Shakeology Balls

Here at the Mitro house we were craving something sweet!  The boys wanted to eat ice cream and chips and I wanted chocolate. So I distracted them from the pantry with my bright idea to let them help me cook.

Much to my surprise they were awesome little assistants and we whipped up these tasty little morsels that are killing the sweet craving, are keeping us full, giving us nutrition and keeping us all on track.  So if you find yourself needing something sweet, give this a go!  Just another reason why Shakeology ROCKS.

Caramel Cocoa Shakeology

Breakfast is served in the Mitro’s before we head out to our basketball games this morning!  You can also make this with Cafe Latte Shakeology as well.  I buy the caramel extract at Walmart but if you can’t find it you can easily get it on  I hope you enjoy!

Unicorn Bark Shakeology Recipe

An absolutely delicious dessert that is totally healthy!! It’s called Unicorn Bark and it is kid tested by both Landon and Bryce and they love it!! 🦄🦄🦄🦄 This is going to be worth you making especially on those days when you need a sweet fix!!!

No Bake Shakeology Breakfast Cookies

Sugar is ADDICTIVE, the more you eat the more you CRAVE it!! Stay on track and avoid slip ups with this recipe for No Bake Shakeology Breakfast Cookies. These clean cookies will be your SAVING GRACE!! My family made these last week and they were so good! Perfect as a snack, a dessert or breakfast.

When you heat up Shakeology, it looses some of its nutritional value, but you don’t have to worry with this recipe since it doesn’t require baking. They’re so easy to make and they taste delicious!

Chocolate Shakeology Pudding Recipe

I have had quite a few people suggest the Chocolate Shakeology Pudding Recipe to me and I just hadn’t taken the time to try it. I don’t think I was necessarily afraid of it, I just get lazy sometimes and don’t feel like trying something new.

I needed a little sweat treat tonight so I decided to whip it up. There are just some days that no matter how healthy I eat that the cravings still strike.  I don’t want to completely deprive myself but I also don’t want to feed the sugar demons because it is a slippery slope.

This is hands down one of the easiest and yummiest treats that keeps me on track with my nutrition and fitness goals. I am definitely someone who loves chocolate, but I also love the definition in my body from eating healthy and clean.  I also love that I can have something that is rich and creamy but also is healthy at the same time!  Honestly, why wouldn’t you want the best of both worlds.

If you have never tried Shakeology but are curious about how it could benefit you then contact me and I can always give you the scoop!  You can decide for yourself if you feel it is worth the investment!

If you want to give Shakeology a try, please contact me to purchase!  Then I can explain the best options to get you the most bang for your buck!

NOTE:  I did add extra almond milk because at first it wouldn’t blend in my blender.  I used a whole banana that I had frozen and you could easily top with berries or coconut or mix in some almond butter.

Cookie Dough Greek Yogurt

My husband is a clean eater right along with me and he must of been scrolling through Facebook and this clean eating cookie dough greek yogurt recipe came up.  He was in the kitchen whipping something up and asked me if I wanted to try it!  So of course I’m always up for a snack I said yes!!!

Anything with yogurt, peanut butter and chocolate I am game! It is called clean eating cookie dough yogurt!!!  AMAZING!!! Now I would’t put this on the menu for every night as a snack but this is a perfect treat to replace your bowl of ice cream or the blizzard.  Let me know when you try it and what you think!!

Shakeology Peanut Butter Cups

OMG talk about totally to die for!!!!  When we just need a chocolate peanut butter fix this is the way to go!!! It’s not exactly the best nutritional value but it beats eating trans fat and empty calories. At least you get some healthy benefits of Shakeology and peanut butter to curb your cravings!!! Enjoy!!!!

Shakeology Mug Cake

So I am going to just shoot it straight!  I have a killer sweet tooth and I love anything chocolate! I have a hard time passing it up! I was in dire need of something last night so I whipped up this bad boy! It satisfied the need for something sweet and I didn’t kill my healthy eating!

I am very aware that when you heat up Shakeology it does take away some of the nutritional value, but I already had my shake for the day so its ok!  I’m totally cool with it!

You gotta give this a try!!!

Shakeology Chocolate

OMG OMG OMG!!!!  I think I just died and went to heaven!  I have the biggest sweet tooth ever! I think I finally found my fix! I am doing my best to cut out sugar because it is so stinkin addictive and the more I eat the more I crave it!

I am also following the 21 Day Fix Extreme workout plan and for 21 days there are no cheats or treats. But the cool part is that I have found healthy foods I can make feel like a treat!  This is one of them!

Shakeology chocolate! I will be honest, you can add this to the list of the things I am skeptical of! As I was mixing it up in the kitchen both my in laws and husband was rolling his eyes at me.

1 spoon of coconut oil is a good fat and 1 shakeology serving is 1 red. So I counted it as a red and as a spoon. If you want to double or triple feel free!  you can also add in some peanut butter, PB2 or other nuts to give it some variety!  ohhh as I am typing this I am thinking about adding in some slivered almonds!!!!! EEK!! This is so exciting.

Blondie Cookies

Blondies anyone?!?!?!

Seriously I think I have died and gone to heaven. Don’t let the ingredients fool you because these bad boys really do taste good! I mean not just a little good but amazingly good!!  You have to try them!

They are vegan and gluten free but you don’t have to be either of those in order to make these. I classify these as the perfect sweet treat when that craving hits! Or if you are like me, you make them, you serve them and you TELL NO ONE that they are healthy and then wait to see what people say! I bet they love them and then ask for the recipe! Then at that point, I don’t shout omg they are healthy!!  I say here you go, hand over the recipe and watch their expression!!! PRICELESS!!!!
