I really feel like this is speaking to me today! Since I started exercising and became a Beachbody coach I am constantly up against opposition. Even though I am doing something good for myself and my body there are always people who have to throw in their two cents. I always tell people, do you know that quote from the movie Bambi where Thumper says, “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothing at all.” I wish I could tape that to my forehead. When I was exercising people would say I was crazy for exercising 6 days a week. When I started eating clean people would say, “well I’m not inviting you over for dinner anymore I don’t know what to feed you.” Or “I’m not babysitting your kids because you don’t have any good snacks to eat.” SERIOUSLY! Is food more important than spending quality time with my kids?! NO! And when I signed on to be a Beachbody coach, everyone even my husband said I was wasting my time and money. I felt very strongly about my decision but there were and are days where I question my decision. That’s what this world does to us. We make a decision and we know it is the right one, but we let other people influence us and sway us away from what we know is good and right! I know for myself that I tend to wear my emotions on my sleeve and I take what others say to heart. There were many times that I would get in the car after being out with other people that I would just feel awful about what I was doing. But wait, I am helping other people. I am sharing my knowledge about what works with others and they don’t want to hear it. I just couldn’t wrap my head around that! I have gotten much better at letting things roll off my back and only sharing my knowledge with people who are interested in it. When I see an opportunity to share information I do so, but I don’t let negative comments get me down!
This quote is so true to my personality because when I started working out I took all the negative things that people had said about me and wrote them down on a piece of paper.
1. I thought you would lose this weight quicker.
2. Someone would touch my belly and call me preggo even after I had my baby.
3. Another person said, can’t you just buy a sucker inner thingy!
Don’t people know how sensitive a woman is after giving birth! We already feel disgusting as it is, why would you point it out!! So instead of wallowing in my own self pity I made the decision to use others negative comments as my motivation to get in shape. I seriously hung it up on my wall and looked at it every day. I will not let others negative comments DEFINE who I am, I am not weak and even if I don’t feel confident I wouldn’t let you know it! The negative comments only make me stronger! It makes me want to prove you wrong that this business isn’t worth my time. It IS worth my time. I don’t care about becoming a millionaire, I just want to help other people like my coach did for me. I get such satisfaction by seeing other people make goals and stick to them and achieve amazing transformations because I was there to keep them focused. I have gone through those roller coaster of emotions and who better to coach another person than someone who has lived it. So the negativity that I come up with daily might get me down at the moment but it won’t define me or break me! IT WILL MAKE ME STRONGER and I WILL SUCCEED! That’s what Leaders are made of! ARE YOU A LEADER?
Wow preach on girlie!!! You are so right on!!!
