Even the healthiest of us can get into a little too much Halloween fun, and while everything’s good in moderation we sometimes go overboard (it’s ok)!!! Here are some easy tips to get yourself back on track.
- Drink more water: Make your water consumption a priority for the next few days especially. It will help to flush out all of the toxins that come from over indulging in the halloween candy. You should aim to drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water each and every day. If you struggle to drink water then download the water tracker app on your phone to remind you, put some rubber bands on your refillable water bottle to signal how many full glasses you need per day. When you drink a full glass move the rubber band down and when you get to the bottom you have hit your quota for the day. Drink La Croix water or sparkling water if you struggle or even add some fresh fruit to you water bottle.
- Break the sugar addiction: Eating sugar only makes you crave it more! It’s the truth and I can tell you that its this signal in your brain that makes you crazy and wanting more. To cut that craving you can try doing a 3 Day Refresh which is an all natural cleanse (not the kind that makes you poop 24/7) to help you get back on track with your nutrition. Also, eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies and focus on getting natural sugar from the foods you eat.
- Donate your candy to the troops: Out of site and out of mind. I know for me that having the candy in the house just starring at me is only going to make me dive in when no one else is looking. Just think about the moments of weakness after a long day at work or with the kids, that time of the month or just mindless late night snacking. We are human and it happens to us all. So if you don’t have it in the house then you are not as tempted. I can tell you that we have decided as a family to let the kids pick out a handful of their favorites and the rest is getting donated in return the boys each get to pick a special toy of their own.
- Get moving: Get your metabolism fired up by getting in at least a good 30 minute sweat session every day this week. Whether it is biking, walking, taking a class or doing a workout on Beachbody On Demand its time to to get your sweat on. It releases those feel good endorphins, it will help you shed those unwanted lbs and calories and it will give you the power to get through the rest of your day. I got up this morning and crushed out my Core De Force workout post Halloween and it felt great to be back on track! Accountability truly is key to success. I can tell you that my customers are back on track today, drinking their water and I’m giving them tips to stay on track in our closed accountability and support group.
