Why Vivix+ Is The Next Chapter in My Health and Wellness Journey

Over the past few years, the way I think about health and wellness has completely changed. I used to think so much about what was happening on the outside: my weight, how my clothes fit, how I looked, and whether I was doing enough of the things I thought I was “supposed” to be doing.

But eventually, I reached a point where I realized I could be checking all the boxes and still not feel like myself.

I was tired no matter how much I slept. I felt bloated even when I thought I was eating healthy. My weight felt like a constant fight. My hormones seemed completely out of my control, and the brain fog and lack of energy made me wonder if this was simply what getting older was going to feel like.

Melanie Mitro Before and After

For a while, I really did think, Maybe this is just how it is now.

What I know today is that my body needed me to start asking different questions.

Instead of constantly asking how I could lose weight or fix one individual symptom, I started looking at the bigger picture. I became interested in inflammation and what was happening beneath the surface. I started paying more attention to my nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, supplementation, recovery, and the everyday choices that were affecting how I felt.

That shift changed so much for me.

In 2021, I shifted toward an anti-inflammatory approach to eating. I changed the way I exercised, moving away from constantly pushing my body through intense workouts and incorporating more strength training, Pilates, and daily walks. I became more intentional about sleep and recovery, created a consistent supplement routine, and started protecting my mornings instead of beginning every day already stressed and depleted.

None of those things transformed my health overnight. They were small changes that I repeated consistently, and little by little, my body started responding.

My skin improved. My digestion felt better. My energy started coming back. I began building lean muscle and feeling stronger instead of constantly feeling depleted. Most importantly, I finally started feeling like myself again.

And then the measurable results started following the way I was feeling.

Over the course of my journey, I lost 15 pounds, lowered my inflammation, and saw my measured biological age decrease from 32 to 27.4.

But the biggest transformation isn’t really the number on the scale or even the biological-age number. It’s that I feel like myself again.

That’s why I’m so passionate about sharing this with other women. I don’t want us to automatically assume that feeling exhausted, foggy, uncomfortable, or unlike ourselves is simply the price we have to pay for getting older. When something doesn’t feel right, I believe it’s worth getting curious, looking at the whole picture, and working with the appropriate health professionals when needed rather than simply suffering in silence.

And I also want to be clear about something: there wasn’t one magic thing that changed my health.

There wasn’t a quick fix or a fad that suddenly made everything better. It has been a framework and a lifestyle that I’ve built over the last six years. Nutrition, movement, strength training, sleep, stress management, supplementation, supporting a healthy inflammatory response, and, probably most importantly, consistency have all been pieces of the puzzle.

That’s what makes this next chapter so interesting to me.

My Goals Have Changed as I’ve Gotten Healthier

The healthier I’ve become, the more my definition of “healthy” has evolved.

At first, I simply wanted to feel better. Once I started feeling better, I wanted to understand why. And now I find myself thinking much further into the future.

I’m asking questions like: How do I maintain my strength as I get older? How do I protect my energy? How do I continue challenging myself physically? How do I support my cardiovascular health, recovery, mobility, and overall health for decades to come?

In other words, I’ve become much less interested in simply talking about lifespan and much more interested in healthspan.

I don’t just want more years. I want more healthy, active, capable years.

That’s what led me down the rabbit hole of biological age, cellular health, longevity, and eventually NAD+.

And it’s also why I’m so excited about what Shaklee is introducing with Vivix+™ NAD Booster.

NAD+ is a molecule that occurs naturally in our bodies and plays an important role in cellular processes, including how our cells produce energy. Our NAD+ levels also naturally decline as we age.

When I started learning more about NAD+, it connected so many of the conversations I’d already been having about healthy aging. If my goal is to continue feeling strong, energized, and capable as I get older, I don’t only want to think about what my body looks like on the outside. I want to understand how I’m supporting it on the inside, all the way down to the cellular level.

I’ve had the opportunity to personally use Vivix+ for the past two months before its official launch on August 17th. I didn’t abandon everything that had already been working for me when I started taking it. I’m still eating the way I eat, moving my body, strength training, prioritizing my foundational supplements, and following the same overall framework that helped me transform my health in the first place.

Vivix+ has simply become the newest addition to that routine replacing the older liquid version I was using.

And personally, one of the biggest things I’ve noticed since adding it is that I feel like I have more in the tank.

I’ve noticed more capacity in my workouts, more energy to move throughout the day, and less of that feeling in the afternoon when my body is telling me, Okay, we’re done now. That’s my own experience, of course, and not a promise of what someone else will experience, but it made me even more interested in understanding the science behind what I was taking.

Want to Understand Your Own Longevity a Little Better?

This is also where I want to make this about YOU, not just my story.

One of the things I’ve loved about going deeper into longevity and healthy aging is realizing how much more there is to our health than the number on the scale or the number of candles on our birthday cake.

If you’re curious about your own healthspan and where you may have opportunities to better support your body as you age, Shaklee has a free Longevity Quiz that is a great place to start.

It only takes a few minutes, and it can help you look at some of the lifestyle factors connected to healthy aging and understand your body and habits a little better.

You don’t need to buy anything. You don’t need to already know anything about longevity. Just take the quiz, see what you learn, and use it as another opportunity to get curious about your health.

Because that’s really what changed everything for me: I stopped simply accepting how I felt and started getting curious about WHY I felt that way.

And that curiosity eventually led me to another piece of the longevity conversation that I had barely thought about before: NAD+.

Then I Saw the Research…

This is the part that really made me pay attention.

I don’t want to take something simply because someone tells me it’s the next big thing. I want to understand the WHY behind it, and one of the reasons I chose to partner with Shaklee is because science and clinical research matter to me.

The clinical research Shaklee has shared around Vivix+ includes findings related to NAD+ levels, biological aging, inflammation, and VO₂ max.

VO₂ max has become especially interesting to me because it’s a measure of how efficiently the body can take in, transport, and use oxygen during exercise. In other words, it’s an important measure of cardiorespiratory fitness, and cardiorespiratory fitness has a strong relationship with longevity.

When I learned that, I immediately thought about the way I already live my life. I’m going to exercise. I’m going to walk. I’m going to strength train. I’m going to challenge my cardiovascular system. I’m going to continue doing the things that help me become stronger.

So the idea of also supporting my body at the cellular level fits naturally into what I’m already doing.

This is why I keep saying that I don’t want to “anti-age.”

I want to age WELL.

I don’t need to look 25 forever. Getting older is a privilege, and I want to embrace it. But I also want to do everything within my control to walk into the next decade of my life strong, energized, clear-headed, mobile, and capable of doing the things I love.

That is the longevity conversation I’m interested in.

Vivix+ Isn’t Replacing My Routine. It’s Evolving With It.

I think this distinction is really important because wellness culture loves to convince us that every new thing needs to replace the last thing.

That’s not what is happening here for me.

The habits and products that have been part of my wellness journey are still part of my wellness journey. My approach to supporting a healthy inflammatory response hasn’t disappeared. My nutrition hasn’t disappeared. Movement hasn’t disappeared. Strength training hasn’t disappeared.

The foundation is still the foundation.

Vivix+ is an addition to that foundation and, for me, represents the next evolution of how I’m thinking about my long-term health.

Six years ago, I was trying to figure out why I didn’t feel like myself.

Then I started understanding inflammation and looking at my health more holistically.

That helped me change my weight, my energy, my inflammation, and even the biological-age markers I was tracking.

Now I’m looking ahead and asking, How do I support this body for everything I still want it to do?

That’s where cellular health and NAD+ have entered the conversation.

And I have a feeling we’re going to be hearing a LOT more about both.

Why This Launch Feels Bigger to Me

There’s another side to this that I can’t leave out because Shaklee isn’t simply where I buy my wellness products. It’s also the company I’ve chosen to partner with and build a business alongside.

One thing I’ve learned from years of building in direct sales is that timing isn’t everything, but timing can create incredible momentum.

I believe the future of the wellness industry will belong to companies that continue to innovate as our understanding of health evolves. Consumers are asking better questions. We want to understand ingredients. We want research. We want to know what’s happening inside our bodies. And we’re increasingly interested in healthspan, longevity, personalized health data, and what we can do today to support the way we age tomorrow.

That’s why I believe this moment is significant.

When a company introduces something genuinely new, innovation creates conversation. Conversation creates curiosity. And curiosity can create tremendous momentum.

I believe Vivix+ is going to give a lot of people a reason to start talking about Shaklee who may never have paid attention before.

From a business perspective, that’s exciting because I’ve learned there is a difference between trying to catch momentum after something takes off and being positioned before that momentum begins.

I’ve built a top direct-sales organization before, and one lesson has stayed with me through every season of business: momentum is powerful, but positioning yourself before the momentum can change everything.

That’s why I’m excited not only as someone who cares deeply about her own health, but also as someone who believes in where this company is headed!

For Me, This Is About What’s Possible Next

When I look back at the woman who thought being tired, bloated, frustrated with her body, and constantly fighting for energy was simply part of getting older, I wish I could tell her what I know now.

I would tell her to stop assuming that feeling bad was her new normal. I would tell her to get curious about what her body was communicating, to look beyond one symptom or one number, and to build habits she could actually sustain.

Most of all, I’d tell her that getting older doesn’t have to mean becoming less of herself.

That’s ultimately why I’m so excited about this next chapter.

My health journey isn’t about becoming smaller or desperately trying to stay young. It’s about continuing to become stronger, healthier, more energized, and more capable as I get older.

Vivix+ is now part of that journey for me, and on August 17th, it officially launches to everyone.
