We are officially in the second quarter of 2024!!! I hope you took time to reflect on your quarter one goals and seeing the effects of your efforts!

12 years into the business and reviewing my goals each quarter, even every month truthfully, is something I do to make sure I am still aligned each quarter.

After about the first year or so into my business, I felt that I could always do more. I started direct sales with 75 Facebook friends and no Instagram account. Month after month of me talking about the business, the programs, products, meeting up with people at coffee shops, or even hosting online webinars, I finally made the impact that I was working incredibly hard to do.

I built a team because I believed in the business opportunity and of course, the programs and products.
I did not want to stop helping others learn how to fuel their bodies, but I felt called to lead more.

I was 6 months into the business when I started building my team. In 2014, I was the top coach of BODi. That was 3 years of incredibly dedicated work to training to build a team.

What are the action steps that over time compound to build a top team? There are multiple ways to train to do something, therefore I am giving my top 4 ways to train vs. try when building your direct sales team.

Listen to all the trainings/team calls then implement.

Every single team call, company call, every group mastermind and training session that is available to be apart of, absolutely take advantage.

Something that set myself apart from others was that I was a sponge, coachable, willing, hungry, and open to achievement. I didn’t say I wanted to grow and build a team, I actually did the work to do so.

Think about this: are you the person who is saying I am trying to build a team or are you training to building a team?

The type of person who is one foot in, one foot out? Every once in a while you make a post about the business blessings or host a sneak peak? But, it’s not consistent. The consistency piece is a must when you are training. “Trying” is saying that you are doing the work without a purpose. There is no marketing or business strategy.

When I decided to build a large team, I didn’t TRY to build the team. I trained for it.
I trained as in if I a trained for the Olympics.

Think about Michael Phelps. He did not just whoops himself into winning all the gold medals, it was intentional work; training.

When I wake up in the morning I think about who am I becoming?

I am building a top 10 team.. or whatever your goal might be.. you say to yourself what does that person do?

They certainly don’t avoid the major parts of building a business!
Post, stories, convos, emails, follow ups, your groups, call to actions, they all matter.

Personal development.

Driving in the car is a perfect example. Instead of listening to 80’s rock, I am listening to a personal development podcast or book that are allowing me to strengthen the skills that I am working on.

Personal development helps us become the better version of ourselves.

Personal development is 100% a must when building your direct sales team.

Body fuel.

A daily discipline to make me feel my best self! What am I eating, drinking, and surrounding my energy with? How am I moving my body intentionally?

Training vs. trying is doing the uncomfortable things that most other people will not do today so tomorrow I can have the things that I dream of for my family.

Make the choice that you know will move you forward rather than hold you back.

If you are trying vs. training, you are going to get subpar results. What you put in is always going to be what you get in return.

Instead, think about what you would need to change right now in order to make your dreams become your reality. Then, get to work!

Prioritize what you want to produce.

The business opportunity can change lives, I am living proof of it. If building the team is what you desire, there is work that needs to be done.

What needs to change right now? Just like before, what needs to be shifted in order for your dreams to become your reality?

The people you are surrounded by? Do you need to make an investment? How about saying no to the things on your calendar that are a distraction vs. moving you forward?

Think about how you can move from doing the work of trying to grow your team with inconsistent efforts to training your mind and body to be able to build your direct sales team!

The goals and vision are possible! Be willing to get out your comfort zone.
Whatever is standing in your way, recognize it and remove it.

When you can change your thought pattern, you can change your life.

I am calling you to train not try. Give yourself a gut check. Are you holding yourself back!?
